Samanage has improved the purchase order (PO) creation process to give you greater flexibility and efficiency.

Now, tax is calculated on per line-item basis and not at the PO-level. This eliminates the need to create multiple POs due to varying tax rates on where your goods and services are sold. You can speed the PO creation process, while ensuring taxes are accurately applied.

All newly-created POs starting the day of the release will follow this revised process. Shipping & Handling will continue to be applied at the PO level. Existing POs will remain using the former method of tax calculation (e.g. At the PO level with tax applied also to Shipping & Handling).

In the below example, Tax is now calculated at the line item and no longer for the whole PO.

Shipping & Handling will no longer have tax associated. As you can see in the image below, tax is not applied to the shipping and handling cost.

Important Note: It is recommended that you re-create any PO’s that are in the “Draft” state if you wish to use the updated taxation calculation process described here.
