Category and Assigned to feild

When a "New Incident" ticket is being created and the end user selects the appropriate Category, say "help desk" is there a way to have the selected category change the Assigned to feild.  in other word if i select the "IT" category the (assigned to) should change to "IT's" distribution group and not the requester of the ticket.     0
