Department field under user profile

I am not seeing where the department field under a user's profile is coming into play.


We would like the ability to set the department field for each user and then when looking at tickets we could sort by 'Requesters Department' to see how many requests we have from that department.
If this or something similar is available please let me know.


I do see that you can add "Department" as a viewable column for incidents however that is tied back to the selected department on that incident not the users department.
