Question about Editing Incidents & Posting Comments

We are new to Samanage and are just starting to work in the system regularly, so if there is a trick to this, I am sure we will find it soon. 
However, we have noticed that when we open an incident, we must post a comment, before we can edit the incident. If we edit the incident first, it will take us back to the Service Desk view and we will need to reopen it in order to past additional comments.

Is there any way to avoid this? Maybe a setting to allow posting and editing at the same time?
