Created vs Resolved

We have recently started using Samanage as our IT Help desk and we're getting to the point where there is enough data to make reporting and charting interesting. To start with something simple, I am looking for a way to get statistics on how many incidents are created versus how many are being resolved. In other words, are we building up a backlog of incidents or are we able to keep up.

I would like to be able to see this data in both tabular and graphical. Is this possible? I haven't really figured out how to interpret the graphs in the Report section.
