Question about Contract renewals

I've got a contract that I entered into Samanage last year. It's a contract for software support. That's now coming due. I have copies of the purchase orders, quotes, etc. from last year already uploaded to the existing contract.
How do I update the contract to reflect the new information while preserving what's already there? Obviously I'll have to change the effective dates of the contract as it stretches into another year, but I don't want that change to alter or confuse last year's contract. Hopefully that makes sense.
