Data stripped from incident

When an end user submits an incident via an email (that is, they are NOT using the 'User Portal') and there is an email address within the body of the email that's in the following format, it is being stripped from incident that's created in the Samanage Application:


My questions is, does surrounding an email with less than (<) and greater than (>) symbols cause the stripping of the email address? If so, is this a bug that can be corrected or do I have to instruct my end users to not submit an email address in that format? I ask, because it's common to get email address in that format from email clients (i.e. Microsoft Outlook). Thanks fro your time.
