I posted on a similar issue about 6 to 8 months ago but nothing ever came of it.
It's also interesting that I am only having this problem with Autodesk software...
My Issue is this:
- AutoCAD 2014 installed as part of Building Design Suite Standard.
- AutoCAD 2014 installed as part of Building Design Suite Premium.
- AutoCAD 2014 installed as a node locked individual program.
- AutoCAD 2014 installed as a network licensed individual program.
When it comes to Autodesk and their licensing system, these are considered 4 different items. I need to be able to show that I only have a specific number of each installed unless it is the networked version.
The problem is, I have no way within Samanage to show that these are different; I have no way to prove or disprove compliance.
I realize that the root cause could be with Autodesk in that there really is no difference between each of them at the registry level. They could all be just the same program simply bundled together.
I tried using Tags by changing the tag names on the ones that I knew were different, but because the program is all under the same name, they all changed names.
In all cases so far with Samanage and software management, I am getting reporting results that are useful and as expected.
Autodesk is the only hold out.
Again... Maybe not your fault, but I could sure use your help!
