Product Announcement: Improving approvals process in Service Catalog

As part of a continuing effort to improve the approvals process in both Change Management (as recently released: Product Update: Multiple Approvers in Change/Release), we are now working on adding support for multiple approvers in the service catalog.

The complete change is coming soon but we have already made a significant improvement in the behavior of approvals in the service catalog.

Where previously any IT user could mark a task in a catalog item as ?completed? by checking the checkbox and thereby ?approved? - the change now is that only if the task is assigned to the specific user viewing it, will he be able to approve using a specific confirm button - see following screenshot:

If the user viewing the request is not the approver, then he will not be able to approve and will only see the status - see following screenshot:
