There doesn't seem to be a way to query the API for a particular ticket number. Since end users see only the ticket number, that's what I'd like to search by. Getting incident details by incident ID is only useful if I've made a query based on other fields and had multiple results returned. If I know exactly what ticket I need to look at, the ticket NUMBER makes the most sense.

I've developed a desktop app for looking at tickets (in a very quick, but limited fashion). Our service desk folks like to look incidents up by the devices attached to the incident and by the incident number. I can query just about every field on the incident, but not the publicly visible identifier that most users see.
