We'd love to be able to make subcategory mandatory for back-end users of Samanage, as we have for portal users, but doing so in this case prevents techs from updating Incidents in the overview table, thus discouraging categorisation at all, since the user-experience (open individual Incident in edit mode, then change the category/subcategory, then save) is too many clicks and too time-consuming.
It would be great if, when category and subcategory are set to mandatory for techs, when changing an Incident category from the overview, Samanage then prompts immediately for subcategory to be entered, and if it is not, the category value chosen will not be committed. Setting subcategory to mandatory for techs has little value as it is today.
