When we merge tickets, the merged ticket that is closed doesn't get categorized. Is this on purpose? I'm curious on other uses/benefits against reporting.
For example, if I have a ticket regarding a firewall failure and 3 more users submit tickets stating they cannot connect to the internet I merge those into the first ticket. Those 3 tickets that were merged were not categorized (no site or category).
Wouldn't it be more helpful to have the parent incident information 'carried' over to the merged/closed ticket (site/category - or even just the category)? Right now when I run reports the data is off and I have a chunk of my pie 'unknown'.
