(Originally posted on 12, August 2014)In implementing the Samanage system, my company is trying to move away from relying on emails, and to use only the Samanage dashboard interface.
To that effect, we decided to turn off the email option "Notify assignee when a new task is created."
A new task assignment will go to the bell notification, and our support staff will watch for that bell to have a notification.
However, an approval can be needed from a manager who doesn't use the Samanage system.
Adding a separate option for only approval alerts to go out would be a good way to let managers know when their approval is required, without clogging up the emails of the support staff.
