Long term plan
(Originally posted on 2, March 2016)Portal search is a great idea, but it doesn't seem to work very well. For instance, I have a service catalog item called "MyApp Access" and I have a tag on the item called "MyApp."
If I search for "MyApp" or "Access" or "MyApp Access" I get the result I'd expect.
If I search for "MyApp Account" or "I need a MyApp account," I get no results.
The text on the search box says "Briefly describe your question or service request" which is very misleading, as it appears to only work well if all of the words entered are hits. Adding loads of nonsense tags doesn't seem like a good idea.
If search was less restrictive, it would really help people find the services they need, and reduce the amount of incidents that are really service requests.
