We are excited to announce that we have enhanced the Automations functionality that was recently released to allow you to set a condition for custom fields of a ‘drop-down’ type.
The addition of this enhancement gives even more power to the user than previously available. Now instead of being limited to a set of fields that Samanage defined (site, department, category, requestor, priority or keyword), you can have your automation look at your own custom fields that have a drop down selection as a condition to trigger your automation. One example is to create a custom field for ‘impact’ and one for ‘urgency’, with the drop-down values for each being low, medium, high or critical. You can then create an automation that will look at at the value for ‘impact’ and the value for ‘urgency’ and based on those results it will trigger a specific action such as automatically setting the service ticket priority to ‘high’, or assigning it to a specific technician.
In addition, you can now use a custom field for a 3rd level, and in turn, use that new custom field as a condition to trigger your automation.
