Ruby Install for Windows

These instructions are for how to install Ruby for Windows.  Installing Ruby for Windows will allow you to run Ruby scripts using our open API.

 

  1. Go to http://rubyinstaller.org/downloads/
  2. Download latest 32 or 64 bit version
  3. Also download the dev kit at the bottom (corresponding version to previous download)
  4. Run Ruby Installer
  5. Click OK
  6. Select ‘I accept the License’ and Click Next
  7. Select ‘Add Ruby executables to your PATH’ and Click Install

  1. Click Finish

  1. Run DevKit Installer and Extract to C:\RubyDK

  1. Open CMD prompt as Administrator
  2. Type cd c:\rubydk - Hit Enter
  3. Type ruby dk.rb init - Hit Enter
  4. Type ruby dk.rb install - Hit Enter

  1. RUBY INSTALLED
  2. Type gem install http - Hit Enter

  1. REST CLIENT INSTALLED

 

Some Troubleshooting:

If ruby dk.rb install doesn’t run, open C:\rubydk\config.yml and modify to have - c:/ruby23-x64 or - c:/ruby23 listed below the final ----- line
